TATRA SKY MARATHON
Siwa Polana, Pand
The @tatra_skymarathon began on a quiet Saturday morning. Athletes gathered in a field at Siwa Polana, signed in, collected their bibs, and warmed up with drills on a dirt road before the rain began to drizzle down. The dark Tatra mountain range loomed behind the bright starting gate as everyone sought shelter in the few food and product stalls scattered around the now-wet field. The women’s race began at 8:30 a.m., and almost as soon as the starting signal was given, the skies opened, unleashing a storm that crashed down into the valley and onto the mountains. The women set off, running through currents as steep hills turned into waterfalls.
